Full-Color MAR Printing Feature Added
November 2009 - Pharmacies looking to impress nursing home, assisted living or long-term care customers need look no further than SRS' new color MAR feature. With an eye on clarity and efficiency, the updated MAR application allows for in-pharmacy printing of MARs in full-color, giving you a competitive edge in the highly competitive LTC/NH pharmacy environment.

Features include full-color pill images, more room for nurses' initials, portrait and landscape designs and an intuitive auto-scaling feature that allows for the largest font size possible for the SIG and other fields, making the forms much easier for nursing home staff to read.

PKon POS Receives SIGIS Certification for FSA/HRA Card Processing
May 2009 - Caro, MI - SRS announces that its PKon POS software has received SIGIS (Special Interest Group - IIAS Standards) certification. This certification allows pharmacies using SRS' POS product to comply with the July 1, 2009 IRS regulations for accepting FSA/HRA cards. The IRS rule states that in order for pharmacies to continue processing FSA/HRA cards, they must either have a certified IIAS POS solution or be registered as an exempt pharmacy if 90% or more of the store’s gross receipts during the prior taxable year consisted of items which qualify as expenses for medical care including nonprescription medications.

As a result of the SIGIS certification, SRS customers will now be able to complete SIGIS' on-line TPS Client Merchant Form, greatly streamlining the pharmacy certification process.

SRS Announces Surescripts e-Prescribing Certification
May 2009 - Caro, MI - SRS announces that its PKonRx pharmacy management software has passed all requirements and has been certified by Surescripts to process e-prescriptions on the Surescripts network, the nation's largest network provider of electronic prescribing services.

Connected to the Surescripts network, pharmacies will now have bi-directional electronic communication, enabling SRS customers to electronically receive new prescription requests directly into PKonRx as well as send prescription renewal requests to e-prescribing enabled physicians.

Auto-Fax Enhanced to Include Prior Authorization, Step Therapy and Drug Substitution Forms
January 2009 - Caro, MI - Faxing refill authorizations for PKonRx users just got easier with SRS' latest re-design of the PKFax refill authorization format. The new format has been enhanced to allow for the faxing of up to four legend Rx's or two controlled Rx's per page. Additional forms have been created so that Prior Authorizations, Step Therapy and Drug Substitutions can also be faxed to the physician directly from the PKonRx pharmacy management software program.

SRS Thermal Printing Solution Released
August 2008 - Caro, MI - SRS announces the availability of a thermal printing solution for PKonRx users looking for a cost-effective alternative to laser printers. Ideally suited for printing refills, nursing home unit-dose labels or as an emergency back up printer, thermal printers require no toner or ribbons, offer fast print speed, quick throughput, a compact design and simple, yet rugged construction that virtually eliminates paper jams. Depending on prescription volume, thermal printer users can also expect to see savings of up to 25% over traditional laser printer supply costs.

SRS Announces Automated MedGuide Printing Enhancement
July 2008 - Caro, MI - SRS announces the first round of automated FDA MedGuide printing for PKonRx users. Sourced directly from either the drug manufacturer or the FDA MedGuide website, the MedGuide(s) will automatically print in conjunction with the Rx label, eliminating the need to manually search for and retrieve MedGuides.

Unlike other MedGuide printing applications in the marketplace, SRS' MedGuide printing application does not require the use of third party software or accessing a website to retrieve and print MedGuides. This feature is being made available at no additional charge to SRS customers.

Reverse Drug Look-Up Feature Added
June 2008 - Caro, MI - SRS announces the release of a drug imprint look-up feature that has been added to the Meds menu. Utilizing drug description data from the Medi-Span drug database, this new feature will allow PKonRx users to search for drug products based on the text printed on the tablet or capsule, allowing for quick identification of unknown drugs. This feature is being made available at no additional charge to SRS customers.

Doctor DEA Database Available
May 2007 - Caro, MI - SRS announces the availability of a Doctor DEA Database search feature. This feature, updated monthly, will allow PKonRx pharmacy software users to immediately search a DEA-certified database for updated physician demographic and more importantly, DEA licensure information. SRS is making this feature available at no cost to its pharmacy software customers.

Debit Card Processing for POS Customers
April 2007 - Caro, MI - SRS announces the availability of pin-based debit card processing for users of SRS' PKon POS application. Unlike credit card transactions, which incur a processing fee as a percentage of the total sale, processing of bank-issued debit cards assess the merchant a flat-fee, resulting in lower, overall processing fees.

Remote Off-Site Backup Enhances Disaster Recovery Plan
March 2007 - Caro, MI - SRS announces the availability of a "hands-free" Remote Off-Site Backup application. With daily or weekly backup options available, Off-Site Backup electronically encrypts and transfers pharmacy data to secure, off-site servers, offering the ultimate protection in the event of a natural disaster as well as aiding in the Pharmacy's HIPAA Disaster Recovery Plans.
